Career quest

The aims of this activity are to:

• learn about jobs
• reflect on the career you would like to follow in the future
• develop your oral presentation skills

Your task is to think about the career that you would like to follow, find information about it, and give a short 3-minute talk to the class.

PROCESS:

• Browse through the resources to get ideas that help you choose a career and make yourself familiar with the vocabulary you will need to talk about it.
• Choose a career that meets your expectations and suits your abilities.
• Make an outline for your talk. Make sure you include the following information:

          a) A description of the job

          b) The qualifications required

          c) The reasons why you would like to do that job

• Rehearse your talk at home and make sure that you can talk for three minutes.

EVALUATION:

You will be evaluated for your ability to communicate successfully. The following criteria will be taken into account:
